Dark brown with some red showing through and plenty of off-white foam in the goblet. Aromatic with roasted grain. What's odd is that this doesn't taste in the least bitter. It's more like a Baltic Porter with the sweet winey and fruitcake flavors. Some modest burnt grain to go with the malty sweetness. Whatever this is, it's almost entirely unlike an IPA. But quite drinkable if you think "Porter of some kind." I hate to complain about a beer not being bitter enough, but it doesn't taste hoppy either. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 01/13/25.

16oz can pours out darker reddish brown but with plenty of light showing through the glass...interesting nose and palate, not quite the direction I thought it would take, kind of all over the place but maybe that's my palate. Aromas and flavors in no particular orders: earthy, herbal, pine, caramel, chocolate, toffee, citrus rind, minty. These are all profiles that fit a Black IPA, they're just a bit disjointed in this one.
