Marcus’ beer! Based on a recipe from the brewery he used to work at in Florida - Playalinda Brewing. We packed this Red IPA full of FRESH Centennial hops until it was juicier than the “free candy” sign Marcus keeps duct-taped to the van door. Malty, citrusy, a little resinous—basically the liquid version of making bad decisions in a parking lot after midnight.
At 6.6%, it’s strong enough to make you forget the shag carpet on the van floor (don’t ask), but smooth enough you’ll find yourself going back for more. Just… maybe don’t actually go into the van. Seriously. Stay outside. Drink the beer.
Hops:
Hot Side- CTZ T-90, Cascade T-90, Amarillo T-90, Fresh Crosby Centennial.
Dip Hop- Simcoe T-90, Columbus Cryo.
Dry Hop- Citra T-90, Amarillo T-90, Cascade T-90.

Poured from a 16 ounce can with an illegible date into a tulip glass at 52 degrees.
Look- Amber-brown, clear, cream colored frothy head, average head retention and lacing.
Smell- Bready, pine, raisin, between weak and medium strength of scent.
Taste- Bready, bready, bready, slight pine, medium strength of flavor.
Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, mildly prickly, moderately bitter, moderately creamy, mildly dry finish, moderately mouth warming.
Overall- This beer was a malt bomb. The malt covered almost all of the hop flavor and fresh hop character. The hops really only added some bitterness. The mouthfeel was above average and the appearance was as expected. Overall this beer was too malty and the style is probably not one that benefits from the use of fresh hops.
