collaboration with the illustrious fort george, good get for these guys! fresh hopped with strata, but also with new zealand cascade and krush and some other stuff, including something i dont think i have ever heard of before, manilita, also from new zealand, way cool! pretty loaded, really good, clean as the hazy ones go, nice expression of strata but made much more interesting and complete with the others, sometimes i feel like fresh hop beers avoid using pellets and products, but this is proof that sometimes that can give the fresh hops a little extra kick, this is so bright and fresh hop forward, well supported, nicely engineered brew. uniformly hazy, somewhat matte in luster but not heavy or gunky, high white head from the tap over an inch tall and lasting, creamy looking. the aroma and flavor pop with goji berry, lemongrass, and overripe honeydew, crazy potency, some weedy freshness, not green at all to me, near ripe strawberry, mandarin oranges from the can, sliced pineapple, and fresh mango as well, what a bouquet on this! lemon, mowed lawn, kiwi fruit, cut spruce and juniper, and some oils holding it all on the palate, nice long hop climax in this, lots of movement too, fruity most of the way, peach and mango as it warms, red berry, clean citrus, lovely freshness thats apparent the whole way, way more than just strata but its still prominent, late coconut and lime leaf from it, and maybe just a pinch more grain than it really needed, a bit fuller feeling, still dry, pillowy, but its just a bit filling and heavier than i think the hop profile asks for, at least for me, but its smooth and balanced and good, classic grain profile for the style i guess. low bitterness but not zero, good carbonation giving it some textural life, and just a first rate hop complexion well planned and executed. vice beer has been impressive of late, this is really good, love the hop profile.
