An Old School West coast IPA built on Munich 10, 2-row and and handful of crystal 20 for nostalgia. We then attacked the kettle with Columbus, Chinook, Comet, because C hops are C hops and for a touch of modern flare we added a smidgen of Mosaic cryo at Flame out. We hopped with the same and some Citra to make for an old school west coast IPA.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a shaker glass. It pours a slightly cloudy, bright gold with a thin, ecru-colored head and thick, clinging lacing. The smell includes lemon, grapefruit, pine needles, and just a whiff of berry. Its taste is authentic: dry, bitter lemon peel and grapefruit rind, pine sap, and a hint of tangerine over a crackery malt base. The Columbus, Chinook, and Comet hops are used well. As it warms there are also notes red berry and herbal dankness which play against the citrus. It's nicely balanced. The mouth feel is crisp and clean with an appropriate level of carbonation, and it drinks easily at 6.4% ABV. Overall, Cowabunga is solid, solid, and solid.
