Our rye whiskey barrel aged American strong ale. Heavily roasted crystal malts and powerful American hops along with an extended nap in 8 year Sagamore rye whiskey barrels result in notes of cherry cordial, toffee, prune, toasted oak, coconut, and vanilla.

Had on tap at Frisco Taphouse in Gambrills, MD. 2023 vintage. This is super boozy, very rough around the edges. Some interesting flavors (vanilla, caramel, whiskey, oak, dark fruit) in there but overall not a great strong ale IMO.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy cola color with essentially zero head. Initial impression is rye whiskey, oak char, perhaps a touch of vanilla, and understated caramel. Mouthfeel is medium, verging on sticky. Finish fades to a delicate caramel booziness. Overall, quite a departure from my standard IPA variants, but an enjoyable one.
