Our honest to goodness Bavarian-style Doppelbock. Rich malty notes of cocoa, coffee, brown sugar, figs, rustic brown bread. Winter release.

16 ounce can poured into Tulip.
A three finger light brown head climbs out of the dark cola brown clear pour. The spongy foam has decent retention and easily rises with a swirl. Nose opens with subdued cola and spicy hop aromas followed by dark caramel and chocolate malt. Sweet and malty right through to the finish, the rich flavor consists of caramel, dark bread, and hints of tangy dried fruit; while picking up some herbal and spicy hop flavor by the finish that cleans up the sweetness. Bitterness is very low. Body is medium to full with a crisp start that smooths out nicely on the back.
Perhaps on the lighter but end of the Dopplebock spectrum but very nice and flavorful. Especially if you like sweet and malty concoctions.

Had on tap at Frisco Taphouse in Gambrills, MD. This beer features some nice dark bready notes, noble hops, and a surprisingly strong char/smoky note that is slightly reminiscent of cigarette smoke. Interesting, definitely not a typical bock.
