Unfiltered Pils harkening back to Pilsners of old, this full flavored lager is highly crushable.

my first from these guys, new orleans brewery scene is booming! this isnt my favorite, a little messy on the ferment, almost estery, not as crisp and clean as i like them to be, yeasty beyond just being unfiltered, even almost nontraditional in how it presents, and there is a little sweetness left in it which i think also takes away something. loosely czech in style. yellow beer with decent clarity and shine, a creamy white head and nice lace as it drinks. it smells slightly soapy with a little honey richness to it, bready rather than doughy, cooked rather than rawer, not toasted but hearty, light green grape and green apple fruitiness, a little lime and bitterness from the noble hops, late spice to it, more character than many but with different proportions and something up with the ferment. the flavor is similar, i like the citrus note to the hops, a little green tea there too, but also wrinkles of things that maybe shouldnt be there, canned yellow corn, dryer sheet, its not way off but it lacks that long lagered snap that i look for in a pils type. subtle floral notes as it warms, a little more long lasting than it should be, lacks the refreshment value i want, but also has more flavor than a lot of these and although this reads a tad amateurish, its hard to be too critical. fuller spectrum grain in here, almost a decocted completeness, but the overall quality is short of the mark to me...
