Gifted in August 2022 and drunk shortly thereafter.
In the glass, the beer is a light, washed-out golden colour. It's very, very clear - it's obviously been filtered to within an inch of its life. There is evident carbonation happily bubbling up the center of the glass.
In the nose, it's like it's wearing nothing at all, Ned Flanders style. If I try really hard I can maybe perceive perhaps the slightest sweet corn aroma.
The taste is largely as the nose foretold. It's very light, but there is definitely sweet, watery corn in there with hints of husky, earthy malt. It's very sweet and has a long, sweet finish.
In the mouth, there is light carbonation. This makes it eminently suitable for quickly drinking a beer I suspect is indeed meant to be drunk very quickly.
Overall, this is a sweet lager trying hard to hit the AAL end of the spectrum, which is not the norm for Australian beers. The thing for me is that it's not outwardly aiming to fit that niche, being advertised instead as a solid Aussie lager. It might be ok to smash at a bbq or the beach, but if that's the case then say it! Don't be ashamed of what you are, especially since, without that context, it's a really ordinary beer.
Cheers
