This beer was devised with two ideas in mind. First, you love a kiss of malt, even if you don't know it, the sweeter grain-based flavors help to anchor hops. And second, you love the citrusy yet bitter flavors of orange wine, aperol, tonic with lime... you know the drill. Thus, Orange Beer was born. Brewed with Red X malt for a dash of color and caramel, dry hopped with Citra, Comet and Nelson Sauvin Amplifire for a big yet delicate citrus profile, this one goes down easy.

Canned 6/19/25. There is no actual fruit used; the taste is all from the hops. Pour is a slightly hazy golden amber. A finger of head hastily fades away. Nose is a scrumptious fruit feast with plenty to spare for taste. A superbly blended hop bill produces a tasty combo, long finish with orange zest, mango and stone fruit which could use support from the malts. The body is ok, a little light on the carbonation. I'd say go for it when you see it. 6.2% ABV

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a hint of copper and a fine, one finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, orange, grapefruit, pine and a little dankness. Flavor is lightly caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, orange, grapefruit, pine and a touch of catty dankness. Moderate citrus rind and pine bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I like the mild caramel notes in the malt and the hop bill has a winning profile with West Coast flavor. The bitterness is a bit attenuated for me, I expected a little more lingering bitterness from these hops, especially Citra and Nelson Sauvin. Easy drinker with nice hops.
