I had this beer on-tap in a tulip glass at Hopua in Mountlake Terrace.
Appearance: medium golden hue with just a dash of haze that lends kind of a shimmeriness to it. Pretty!
Smell: sweet malt with a kind of floral, earthy character. Not bad but quite a bit lighter than what I’d expect from a TDH IPA.
Taste: bitter and resiny but kind of a clean bitterness over a relatively sweet malt with a little toasty character. A pretty solid Westie.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I think fans of WCIPA will dig this. As for me, it’s not my favorite style, but it’s a good example of its type.
