solid pils here, shows some technical proficiency, and is real subtle and drinkable overall, a fine specimen and a good little introduction to this new operation, gorgeous space, looks like no expense was spared, and all the beers i had were quite clean, a good start for them indeed. lovely clarity on this, just beer colored beer, short but lasting white head, looks right. the nose is a little understated, but i get clean and fresh pils malt, a light crackery thing to it, some minerals in the grain and the water, and an also quite mild yeast, although german enough to fit the style, lightly floral on the hops, not as bitter as expected, really approachable take it seems. the flavor agrees, and although slightly more robust and also distinctive than the aroma, similarly a little muted, although vibrantly fresh and well proportioned. the hops run through a lot of this, tame as they are, its not all on the finish, cut flowers, jasmine, even spring dandelion heads, gives this life without very much bitterness at all. a little honey note to the grain too but the beer is dry overall, and this fresh yeast does a nice job, seems like very professional and patient lagering, which is the key to why this is objectively so good. fine carbonation, average body for the style, snappy refreshing finish, a very drinkable beer any time of day or year. could also serve as a cool base for fun dry hopping in the future...
