Highlighted by Simcoe, Strata and Citra hops, this West Coast IPA has aromas of peach and papaya with a gentle, but bright bitterness.

16-ounce can purchased at The Beermongers. Date stamp reads "CANNED ON 04/28/26". Enjoyed in a small Becher glass.
The body is a bright and clear citrine yellow. The somewhat loose and sudsy head vanishes completely and leaves no lacing. The nose is a pleasant mix of peach and bitter citrus (grapefruit, lime), with a little pine underneath. The flavor leads with red grapefruit and a quick burst of bitterness that settles to a dull roar. There's some underripe nectarine and vague berries in the middle, along with a rising note of pine. Finishes dry with pine, grapefruit soda, bitter orange peel, and an odd but appealing trace of horseradish. Never gets more than semi-sweet, and I'm good with that. Light-bodied with biting carbonation and a finish as decisive as a horn stab from James Brown's backing band.
Overall, Retrospect is a tasty WCIPA with good bitterness, but maybe it could use a little polish. It's like a loud voice with too many elbows. I haven't decided if this is a bug or a feature. Further testing is required.

16oz can purchased at Huckleberry's, in Spokane, Washington, for $4.19. according to the stamp on the label, this was canned on July 2nd, 2024.
Poured into a glass, it was a bright, clear, golden shade of Amber. With a good size, sudsy looking, off-white head. Lots of lace.
Big fruity, citrusy, piney nose. The label said it was a West Coast IPA, and the aroma backs that up.
The flavor is a bit more complex. Sure, it's grapefruiting in piney like a West Coast ipa, but there's more than that going on here. I get flavors of peaches and tropical fruits as well. There's a slightly pithy bitterness that kicks in about Midway through and contributes to a mildly bitter zap to the palate at the swallow, giving it a slightly crisp send off.
Medium bodied, with a dry, slightly resiny mouth feel.
Lately I've come to feel that I should be paying more attention to beers from Uprise, and my experience with this is doing nothing to counter that. Now that I see that they are distributing package beer, I'll be taking more stuff home that bears their name in the future.
