Citra Fresh Hop

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, light to medium golden amber with a one finger white head that slowly dissipates to a thick cap with nice lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit and a hint of mixed fruit. Flavor follows, with pale malt, citrus hops, lemon, yuzu, grapefruit, a hint of ripe tropical fruit; estery lemon finish with solid bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess; nice mouth feel. A quite nice Citra fresh hop. Normally Citra single hop ales seem somewhat one-note during most of the year, but I've been pleased with the fresh hop ones this year; not that complex of a hop profile, but a delightful lemony flavor that tastes like the pulpy fruit rather than extracts or lemonade. I think the finish on these makes them well worth seeking out during this season. Nicely done and a nice creamy body to the malt.
