Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 8/13/25.
Appearance: light golden hue with a basically clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: sweet with a rich candied-grapefruit aroma. Bright, fresh, fruity, and enticing!
Taste: I'm not necessarily a WCIPA fan, but this thing has bright, fresh hops with that classic grapefruit and pine flavor. Sweetness is pretty high, but again, for WC DIPA, that's all part of the package.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a moderate carbonation and pretty good creaminess.
Overall: a really appealing example of the style. Uprise has been making some excellent IPAs. Of course, it certainly doesn't hurt that this was canned just one week ago!

16oz can from a 4-pk gifted to me by friends as a reward for doing a spot of.pet sitting this weekend. According to the stamp on the label, this was canned on August 13, 2025, which means it's pretty damn fresh.
Poured into a brewery correct half-pint glass, this was a clear golden amber color. The head was thin, bubbly and extremely short-lived.
Big, hoppy aroma reminiscent of mango and papayas. A crackery malt aroma can almost be sensed rather than smelled, as, at least in olfactory terms, this is the hops' show.
Up front, the hops give a sweet, tropical fruit flavor to things, but almost immediately, there's a modestly bitter spicy note that keeps things grounded. Things finish off with a pleasing crisp, dry note.
Medium bodied, with a surprisingly crisp mouth feel for an ale of this high an octane.
Although I was a little underwhelmed at how fast the head vaporized, this was a great beer to drink on a humid, off-and-on rainy afternoon in eastern Washington. I'll be hitting this again.
