Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 8/1/25.
Appearance: pale golden hue with just a dash of haze and a thick head of frothy ivory foam.
Smell: earthy and piney, and a little bit herbal, with some bitter grapefruit peel notes. Malt is a bit on the sweet side. Definitely fits the "West Coast IPA" bill -- and not bad at all.
Taste: sweet, like the aroma, perhaps even a little too sweet for me. Citrus peel, pine, and a little bit of an earthy dankness are in the flavor mix. Hmmm; on further evaluation, the sweetness works well here, adding a juiciness to the citrus and pine flavors that was a bit lacking in the aroma. Really good!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I'm not always a WCIPA guy, but if you're gonna do one, this is how to do it.
