We took a bucket of limes, another bucket of limes, & another bucket of limes &...well you get the picture. Zest like mad, juice, add a bucket of lemons for good measure. Lactose. Lacto bacillus, sorachi ace and riwaka hops. A hint of vanilla. Mouth puckering, lip smacking.

Purchased at the brewery in March 2024. Drunk in November of that year.
L: Golden yellow in the glass with a thin cap of bright-white head. Lots of smallish bubbles steam up the glass.
S: Strong aromas of juice, peel and pith, precisely as advertised on the can.
T: Again, limes as far as the eye can see, but enhanced with a dose of lactose that sweetens things appreciably and lends a pleasant mouthfeel, while dialing down the tartness to refreshing and enjoyable levels. It drinks and tastes more like a cocktail than a beer but pulls off the juxtaposition seamlessly.
M: As noted above, the lactose adds a creamy note to the mouthfeel, leaving the beer full and rich in the mouth. Carbonation is dialled right back.
O: This is a delicious fruited sour that doesn't go nuclear with the sourness to showcase, surprise, surprise, an eminently drinkable beer. It's such a pity that Valhalla was yet another victim of the cost of living crisis currently gripping Australia.
Cheers!
