Burnt umber clear body with a tan head and waves of lacing. Rye and brown bread lead the nose with earth, mild spiced tones, black pepper, forest floor, and dark nuts with a whisper of date esters. Taste has the rye and yeast leading here too. I am getting accompaniments of toast, pumpernickel, earth, fall leaves, and a kiss of black pepper. Feel is dry and smooth with a warming personality, the rye and yeast are felt here, malt backbone lets them dance on the palate with a slight elevation from the yeast through the sip. This in early autumn would hit the spot

16oz can from Tavour. Dark, clear brown with an abundant fluffy beige head. Malty, nutty aroma with a spicy kick from the rye. Taste is malty, sweet, nutty, toasty, with a nice peppery finish. Very smooth and tasty. Rye was a nice addition to this underappreciated style

Very dark red amber with adequate foam in the Fuller's nonic. Lovely aroma of fruitcake and alfalfa. Warm and rich for the modest alcohol content. A little scratch of hops with some leaf mold sort of flavor and aroma. A darker set of flavors with some roasted malt.

Brewed with Munich malts and flaked rye plus German Saaz and Saphir hops. Certainly a better than average brew in the Alt tradition with the appropriate sweetness. Highly drinkable and yet another flavorful brew outside the high ABV IPA range. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 12/9/22.
