16oz can from Tavour. Near black pour, fizzy beige head, fine ring around the glass. Roasty malty aroma, chocolate, sweet, bitter. Taste is sweet, chocolate, very subtle maple notes. Faint bitterness is edged out by the sweetness at the finish. Almost thick feel.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin khaki head that dissipates to a thin film with slippery solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt with moderate char, bakers chocolate, maple syrup and graham cracker. Flavor is dark toasted malt with moderate char, bakers chocolate, light maple syrup. Not getting much sweet potato, but there is a hint of a slightly sweet vegetal, but pleasant note in the finish. Medium bodied with a light to moderate creaminess. A nicely brewed stout with good chocolate and dark toasty malt character and light maple syrup and manages to give the syrup a presence without being sweet. As noted, not much sweet potato, but there is something that is recognizable only because I was looking for it and it does add some extra interest to a stout that is already quite nice for the ABV. I'll be watching for more stouts from Bizarre.
