On draught pours a dark brown, a decent head initially, tan lacing is light and intermittent from the foam ring between sips. The body is decent for an oatmeal brew.
A malty medium roasted sweet flavor dominates, and fades to a tangy finish with a slight dark chocolate bitterness. Hints of a being a barrel aged brew on linger on the palette. Surprising given that the ABV is only 5.6%.
An enjoyable smooth oatmeal stout!

It has the usual black coffee brown color of most good stouts. But, as two twelve ounce cans were emptied into a clear glass liter mug, it looked like it was running a little thinly. What's not thin is the robust aroma. It's as pronounced as it is well balanced in notes of roasted barley, hops and chocolate. Also, it doesn't bring the starchy aspect that comes with some oatmeal stouts. To drink it is to eliminate the earlier fears of it being too thin. It's not as rich and smooth across the tongue as some, but this brings so much flavor, its body seems just right. Just as with the aroma, the roasted barley, hops and chocolate are wonderfully balanced. The carbonation and level of alcohol are also flawless. The very modest light biege head sustained. Although not spectacular, a reasonable amount of glass lacing was produced. In every category, this is a very good stout.

Dark brown body with ruby highlights. Small tan head left only light lacing. Aroma of roasted malts with chicory and a bit of sweetness in the background. Flavors of toffee, dark fruit and chocolate overwhelm the modest hop presence. Lacks the earthiness of a top notch oatmeal stout. Softly carbonated, medium bodied mouthfeel. Wanted to like this more than I actually did.
