Taster flight at TnT. Cloudy golden pour, spotty head. Light citrusy aroma. Taste is mellow and subdued, pineapple, orange, grapefruit. Light lingering zesty notes.

Observations of an attempt to empty the entire contents of two twelve ounce cans into a clear glass liter mug begin with a complaint. Albeit at room temperature, a careful pour of each can produced a terribly excessive amount of stark white foam. This isn't a generous head, it's unnecessary foam. Welcome to modern American IPAs. Of course, the foam recedes quickly, unevenly and unattractively, whilst leaving sparse and irregular glass lacing. The color under the foam is a liquid that's darkly apricot-amber and is rather hazy. The aroma is OK, with some starches and a sort of piney hoppiness. But it's not that redeeming, as the starch is superficially sweet and the hops are only vaguely piney. There are better layers to taste, as the malty backbone and hops contributions provide an earthy and mildly bitter flavor combination. This drinks so much better than feared, with enough malt and hops in pleasant balance and complexity to make it an enjoyable drinking experience. Surprisingly, the body is just fine, although little glass lacing is to be found. This is actually good on the levels that matter most, taste and mouthfeel, that it gets a recommendation and a likely revisit.
