Neither Italian, nor American Pilsner categories were offered, so this went to the German style grouping. The pour that emptied the entire contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug revealed an overly carbonated beverage that produced an over-sized stark white head. That receded quickly and unevenly, leaving an effervescent lightly golden-amber colored liquid below the modest sustaining head that was left. The aroma is unmistakably Pilsner Lager, with the common to all good ones sweet and mildly nutty malt and a dry, but not sharply bitter hoppiness. The bubbles keep coming and maintain a now normal head, which carries over with an irregular, but noticeable head. It's taste is sweet, yet well balanced, so it truly isn't bitting enough to have been put into the Czech-style Pilsner roster. It is flavorful and smooth enough in mouthfeel that the somewhat high, for a Pilsner, ABV of 7%, is well disguised. The way it crosses the palate and goes down is nothing less than exceptionable. There are tastier Pilsners to be had, but few can match this one's go down-ness. Overall, this is a very pleasant beer that can definitely go with any meal, as well as good just to have a few on their own.
