Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. Served in a standard pint glass, this beer draws a very dark brown color with some Deep, ruby highlights around the edges held up to the light. Has a creamy looking tan head that’s about an inch thick when first drawn and served. Head eventually settles to a very thick film layer of surface foam along with a thick ring lining the inside of a glass and a lot of lacing on the inside of the glass. Aromas of roasted malts along with black coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. A very similar flavor profile, with the roasted malts and the aforementioned coffee and dark chocolate notes that provide a fair amount of bitterness along with a slight sweetness from the chocolate. Also has a hint of piney, floral, dank hops that provide a bit more bitterness. This beer is certainly on the bitter side, even for a coffee porter. The flavor profile is quite enjoyable though overall. No complaints from me here in that regard. Has a crisp, just slightly oily, also somehow somewhat smooth, medium to full body mouth feel with moderate carbonation. All of the flavors linger nicely on my palate for a while in the aftertaste. Spot on for the style.
