12 FL. OZ can
Served in a nonic pint glass

This beer pours a light orange hue with a slight haze. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves nice lacing.

Pumpkin pie aroma with a light coffee accent.

Solid pumpkin pie flavor. The coffee gives it a little something extra, which is nice.

Lighter bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

My first beer from this brewery. Not a bad one to start with. Solid pumpkin ale with a good coffee kick.

Standard small can poured into my Ohio Pint Day glass. Maybe not the ideal choice, but it felt right. The beer is tinged orange, like a kid's juice box, and has no more head than a white fizz that fades out into a small surface patch. The head is sort of spicy, pumpkin-y. Definitely a lighter beer. On first sip, the pumpkin and spice flavor is balanced with the coffee, about equal in the mix. Pretty smooth, a bit of chew. The coffee heads toward the mid-back end as you go.

Hmm. This is outside my wheelhouse - I don't even drink regular pumpkin beers much anymore, and this one is pretty different. No idea what to think.

No head, rather just a fizzy off white head that quickly subsides... Color is an orangish amber with a distinctive glow about it... A few carbonation bubbles can be seen bursting through the surface... Nose is almost non-existent... Pumpkin pulp and a hint of syrup with no coffee to be found anywhere... Palate is equally light and non-assertive.... Light pumpkin, candied sugar and just the faintest coffee notes... On the lighter side of medium bodied... Slightly sleek, slightly chewy and very smooth... Perfectly fine but not much more than that...

The pour is bright orange. The taste is mainly pumpkin followed by some spices, I would say maybe some cinnamon, clove, or all spice & the coffee is definitely in here too mostly around mid palate towards the finish. I like pumpkin & I like coffee so this beer is right up my alley. Overall, this was a solid pumpkin ale from one of my favorite Ohio breweries. Shnitz Ale brews beers like they have been in the business since the mid to late 1980's. Cheers! A-
