Draft pour at the newburgh location. Dense black with medium brown colored head. The aroma is mild with sweet roasted malt. The taste is bittersweet roasted malt. It's less sweet than most, but it's nice. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with just less that average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, good.

I had this on tap at the Turoni's over on Main Street. My brother actually ordered a pitcher to split with the table (my family).

A: It poured as black as night, with about a 1/2 finger head that was only about a shade or two lighter than the liquid below it.

S: The menu said that no coffee was used, but I certainly got a lot of it on the nose. I also got some cocoa.

T: Medium build with a coffe-chocolate bill, with some bitter raw cacao notes along with a hint of molasses.

M: Very oil, slick, and downright molasses laced! The sweeter elements hit just the right notes, and the moderate lacing was subdued, yet effective.

O: I was blown away by this one and am proud to be from the same area as the brewery that produced this beer!

One of my favorite places when I make it to Evansville. Hit up the Main Street location and I am always amazed with the quality of the pizza, but onto the beer...

The beer appeared a nice black or cola color with a nice two-finger, dark tan head that was creamy and had good retention and some nice lacing as well.

The aroma was simple, yet good. A nice, maybe lighter than expected, roasted malted barley aroma.

The taste was the same as well, simple, yet good. Roasted malted barley, which provided for the sweetness, but appeared to be very well balanced. Maybe a hint of chocolate as well.

The beer had a light feel to it, reminded me more of an English Stout, but the beer was smooth and creamy and very easy to drink. Overall, this is just a simple, yet very good stout. Can't wait until I get back.

Pours a very nice deep black with nice head and very nice lacing throughout. It has a nice roasted grain aroma with a nice malty sweet undertone. Nice taste, an excellent deep malty flavor with slight chocolate and coffee tones, and a nice earthy roastiness. Goes down very well, smooth and sweet.

Had this at Turoni's on Main St. Nice dark body with tan, creamy head. Watered down malt smell, mild chocolate malt taste. Slightly roasty. Smooth, smooth mouthfeel. Carbonation is zip. This is a fine beer with their pizza. Nothing to write home about though.

A simple, unpretentious, sweet chocolate stout.

Appearance was very good: black body and a two-finger persistent khaki head. Smell was not terribly exciting, but the taste was simple and easy to enjoy. Definitely on the sweet side, but not too far out of balance... like a cup of coffee with a good heap of sugar. Cholocalte was the singular favor. The beer had a pleasing viscosity, and it was easy to drink two of them in about 45 minutes.

All in all, a one-dimensional beer in a very good dimension!

...and then there's the pizza!

Long Live Turonis!

Pours black with a thick brown head. Retention and lacing are both excellent. Aroma is of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is primarily roasted coffee, with bittersweet chocolate. The bitterness level is low. Alcohol flavor is minimal and the finish is long and sweet. Mouthfeel is very creamy.

From the tap of Turoni's Forget Me Not Inn: Weinbach & Lloyd Expressway, Evansville,In. A dark but translucent dark ruby if held to strong light. Good head for style with a little more carbonation and sweetness than most stouts.

Sweet with excellent hops in both aroma and taste. Medium mouthfeel from roasted barley and bittersweet choc malt. Low acidity with a nice lingering bitterness from the roasted malts and hops.

If you are fond of stout your going to enjoy this one.
Thanks to the guys at The Winetree for putting me on to this neat little brewpub and the local craft beer.
