Looks pretty well dark in my ale glass, but the restaurant lighting is dim. No hint of lace.
Nice malty chocolates aroma.
Tastes rich and slightly roasts/nutty but with an overwhelmingly cocoa tone. The rye addition adds a slight sharpness to this enjoyable nutty brown ale. Quite good.

Pours a clear, brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and decent lacing. Smells of pale malt, grain, sweet malt, hint of hops. Fits the style of an American Brown Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight pale malt, hint of hop, hint of roasted malt, and hint of grain. Overall, decent appearance, good feel, and body. Again, this was served in a chilled glass. I'm sure the hurt the aroma severely.

Pours a nice deep brown color with some decent head and nice lacing. Nice deep malty flavor, deep and earthy with a nice spicy undertone. Good taste, a very nice deep and dark malty sweetness with a nice spicy rye tone and a decent citrusy hop finish. Goes down very smooth, rich, and dark.

From the tap of Turoni's Forget Me Not Inn: Weinbach & Lloyd Expressway, Evansville,In.
My reward for looking for craft beer in Indianna - having been told that "there are no beers brewed in Indianna - Carling used to be made here". This is far from the old Carling Black Lable beer from Evansville that my grandfather drank on his Southern Illinois farm across the Wabash River border.
An Origional Ale Uptown Rye Brown Ale is a ruby red with active carbonation level that keep tingling my mouth and supporting the silky smooth mouthfeel. Chocolate Rye malts produce a lightly bittersweet flavor and with a dry spiceyness from the hops I found this my favorite along with the Blue Eyed Moose IPA. My next growler will be filled with Uptown Rye!
Thanks to the guys at The Winetree for putting me on to this neat little brewpub and the local craft beer.
