Came in a green half liter bottle with a pretty amateurish label featuring a knight holding a long lance and standing next to a big horse. The name was in English, with all the rest of the label information repeated in English and Russian. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before date was 10/17/03, I opened it on 8/26/03.
Poured an adequate straw color under a good firm white head that lingered remarkably long. No lace, however. The nose was fruity sweet and grainy. The mouth was light and over-carbonated. The taste opened with a bit of malt, followed by a pretty harshly metallic bitterness. The aftertaste is grainy and metallic bitter. It was drinkable, but I'm in no hurry to get to Penza to try some more.
