Pours very clear gold with a pretty good, airy white head that fades to a ring, little lacing. Aroma is really lively floral and spicy hops on top of crackery malt. The flavor follows the same path with the malt coming forward and in both aspects the malt and hop characters meld together very nicely. It is dry with a lingering faint malt character and supremely drinkable. Just tastes fresh. The aroma hops are definitely too in-your-face for the style description, but they work so well here and I swear that when I've had helles in Munich it all tasted hoppier than what the BJCP says. This is that. A subtly American take on a great style that does bring bottles from a getrankemarkt to mind.
