On side pull tap at The Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a very creamy looking golden brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like toasted malt, nuttiness, sesame, and caramel.
The side pull makes this pretty luxurious and very creamy delicious. It's rich, nutty, and with a complex flavor that almost reminds me of sesame seeds? There's caramel and toasted multi grain bread, and just a hint of hop character.
This is creamy, and drinks bigger than the ABV would suggest, with a really rich and smooth finish.
Maybe they're a little bit gimmicky sometimes, but these side puil taps really do deliver beer well. I have no doubt that this lager is really excellent in its own right, but the delivery here was top notch.
