Brewed to satisfy the traditional English bitter drinkers in our own pub, ideal for those in yours. Our take on a classic English bitter: copper coloured, well balanced, malty flavours and a smooth bitter finish. Using British grown Fuggles hops for subtle flavours, enhanced with a touch of Columbus and Bobek. National Bronze award winner at the SIBA Digital Beer Awards 2020.

Pours a clear amber with soapy head.

Taste is mild, bready and floral with a soft bitterness. Notes of citrus, brown bread and hints of leather.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a beer designed for social drinking, not deep analysis. Tasty and drinkable.

440 ml can, from Bier Huis, Ossett. ABV is 3.8%. Gusher can, fortunately I opened it over the sink and not over my laptop. Copper colour, huge head, slightly off-white. Aroma of yeast, caramel and brown bread. Flavour of malts, caramel and brown bread. Not much to write home about.

I don't often buy beer with an ABV as low as 3.8% but 'you never know'...
L- Chestnut brown, on the lighter end. Clear, pours with 2Cm pillowy whipped-cream looking head that's already forming lacing at the sides. Impressive so far.
S- Mild toast and grain.
T- Toasted grains and a solid trad hoppy lick across the palate into the finish.
F- Ironically, but as happens, the vibrant hopping helps to underline some thin-ness in the Feel. Very good CO2 in the mouth.
O- If 3.8% can work for you then this one should. It's trad, no fashionable surprises to find here. The look incl the head are very good. Hops are bright and dominate. It's sessionable for some I'm sure. Alas for me I don't think an ABV of 3.8% provides the kind of foundation upon a beer that suits my tastes can be created.
So I go back to an earlier point, if a 3.8% Bitter can work for you give this a go. If that's materially lower ABV% than you usually aim for, don't me surprised if this comes over lacking Mouth-feel.
Bought from TremblingMadness/York as part of a mixed case for home delivery to London
440ml can BB: 01/07/2021. £2.25.
