L- Inky black, pours with a 5mm mid-tan head. Holds pretty well and forms lacing on the way down.
S- Toasty notes plus cocoa.
T- Cocoa, some charring (mild smoke), mild hopping into the finish. Oh and there is minor sweetness, but thankfully relatively little compared to other contemporary milk stouts.
F- It has the look+taste of something that would usually feel much bigger (ABV) and richer than this. So there is a danger this comes over as a bit thin or light. On the flip-side if you enjoy this one it might be a sessionable winter beer,
O- Despite it's name it's honestly not really sweet at all. It looks good and has a decent toasty-roasty taste but relative to that the feel is rather light. There isn't much sense of Indulgence here for me.
Having written/scored my review I'll now read the can for any pointers on how it was brewed:
Contains barley, wheat, oats, rye, lactose [adjunct!], cocos nibs, molasses [adjunct!] - curiously no mention of malts, or the grains being malted...
