16oz can purchased at the source about a month ago. No freshness date on the label, which is different than the one pictured on BA.
Poured into a quasi-IPA glass, this was a very hazy, though not entirely opaque, shade of pale golden amber. Big, sudsy, bone-white head. Lots of lace.
Nose was surprisingly similar to a WCIPA. Strong grapefruity and piney hop aromas.
Flavor is much like the nose. Juicy, grapefruit-like taste up front and in charge, with piney notes in the background. Dry, pithy at the swallow.
Medium bodied, with a slightly resiny mouth feel.
No telling how long this was canned before I bought it about a month ago, but age hasn't seemed to have affected it. If you ignore what it looks like, this is a nice IPA that is, flavor-wise, reminiscent of an old school WCIPA. Really enjoyed this one on this Labor Day weekend.
