On tap at Artevelde Brewery in Ghent, Belgium.
This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells caramelly, with some dark fruit, and stale breadiness.
This is solid, but feels a little sharp and stale right on the back end. It’s nicely malty, but there’s a weird little stale bitterness on the back end that prevents this from being truly great.
This is medium bodied, a little bitter and thin on the back end, but pretty drinkable.
This was fun to try, but I’ve certainly had better Belgian strong ales.
