Obtained at the Pitfield Beer Shop. Coming in a 500ml brown bottle, this ale is filtered rather than bottle-conditioned.
BBE OCT 06, served cool in a goblet.
A: very dark brownish hue with ruby edges, with a thick layer of creamy, off-white beer head settling slowly...
S: lightly-roasted maltiness with semi-sweetish honeyish and flowery note, some mild caramel traces at the tail. Mild but very nice, with that lovely entry of a tinge of honey.
T: ve...ry light-bodied malts descend on the palate, followed by mildly burned sugary flavour, black-tea like hops and faint hints of licorice; mildly sweet malty finish, with traces of cold sweet coffee and properly sour edges from malts to keep an overall balance.
M&D: overall, very light and lively on the mouthfeel, while the body is slightly too thin to my liking, but this malty brew is thus rendered an extremely easy-drinking one. Not bad.
