Rich near black dark brown body with decent tan head that covers at least ninety percent of the surface area and about a quarter of which is double depth.
Big roast aromas hints of vanilla slight smoke aspects
Charcoal tastes rule the tongue here slightly chalky that leads to a coffee bitter aftertaste
I don't detect any vanilla and it doesn't seem to have any great depth
Thin and fizzy, I don't understand with it being bottle conditioned.
A slightly above average bottled porter

Hand-pulled half-pint during the 34th Telford Beer Festival at the Crown Inn, Oakengates on 4 May 2013.
Jet black in colour: solid tan head.
Coffee aromas hit your nose and the taste is over roasted malts, intense roastiness in fact. Considering it is supposed to be 'complemented with fresh vanilla' I couldn't find any in my glass.
Good body depth and most enjoyable, even if I didn't get any vanilla!
