Lucky opportunity to find this on tap - excellent sour. Nice fruit in the background but not overpowering or sweet.

DATE: January 30, 2017... OCCASION: spending quality time with Jer and the family in State College... GLASSWARE: oversized Duvel tulip... pours a dark red, almost burgundy body that supports a swiftly reduced reddish head... the ring whitens, with a swirl as advertised, blueberries, raspberries, and fruity yeasts that funk up the nostrils... phenol reeks with some intrigue, but also has some off-putting cheap wine insinuations... the initial brunt of berry rescinds as sips continue... a mellow start with a reasonably lively finish that lingers well past its sip... more earthiness than expected... a powerful pop late lets on that 8% ABV... a bushel of fruitiness that refreshes without sitting heft on the palate... puckerish, but not off-putting...

A hazy ruby red, nice lasting head. Sour-tart with berry and a barrel influence. Berry present, nicely done!
