12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled 10/1/18, so 2 months old.

Very hazy pale yellow/orange juiced colored body. Initially there is a big bubbled head, but this dissipates to a ring & faint covering. Minimal lacing.

there is a pleasing aroma of non citrus fruit.

It's a little sharp in the mouth. Slightly sour, but an okay bitterness. Fruit flavor only comes through lightly. Wasn't to impressed with the flavor, but as it warmed, it grew on me.

Mouth is between medium & full. The sour & bitter finish was a bit harsh initially, but did mellow towards the end.

Overall, I enjoyed this one more that the other DFH grape must ipa's I've had. Still not sold on the sub style though, thinking grape IPA's aren't my cup of tea.

Comes in a slightly hazy translucent straw color with a foamy white head. Decent retention. A nice film remains. Spotty lacing is left.
Smells of white grape, white wine, lemon juice, candied lemon peel, passion fruit, and pineapple.
The taste starts upfront with lemon zest and lemon candy, followed by passion fruit, white peach, pineapple, and dry white grape must. Super dry white wine that cuts away quickly. Clover and white flowers. Crisp crackery malt. Very light bitterness.
Medium mouthfeel, well carbonated, crisp, clean, dry, and very drinkable.
A really nice and flavorful crisp, pilsner-esque white grape/wine IPA. Very well done.

Deep yellow in color with a heavy haze. Poured with a short, soapy, white foam with medium low retention. Light, sweet, citrus, fruity and vinuous grape aromas with light pilsner malt notes beneath. Medium bodied with medium carbonation and a pleasant, creamy smooth feel. Delicate, light citrus fruity and white wine grape flavors up front. Medium hop bitterness slowly emerges through the middle followed by bready malt flavors and piney hop flavors. Definitive bready malt notes at the end followed by white wine grape notes that linger a bit. Delicate, subtle and complex with interesting aromas and flavors with a great feel.

Another new offering from DFH. Part of the 12pk IPAs for the Holidays.

Pours a light golden color with a white head that quickly dissipates.

Slightly fruity smell mixed with the aroma of hops.

The initial taste has the hoppy bitterness of an IPA that is backed up by a wine-like taste. Fruity and piney if that makes sense. Very tasty and easy to drink.

Overall another nice offering from DFH which is in the same category taste-wise as their Sixty-One.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery "Viniferous IPA"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle; "BOTTLED ON 10/13/18"
$23.29/12-pk IPA mix @ Javies Beverage, Philadelphia, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: "Fermented with Riesling & Viognier grape must..." It's poured a hazy yellow-gold body beneath a finger-thick head of white foam. The aroma is fruity like white wine but not hoppy. There's obviously some malt there as well. It's nice. On to the flavor... the grapes remain but it's also hoppy and fairly bitter. It's slightly acidic as well. I'm finding it floral and melon-like. It's interesting but not as good as their other grape must beers in my opinion, and I'm not sure how I feel about the bitterness, not that it's really that strong, but it lingers in the aftertaste. Ah, I don't know, it's OK. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and gently crisp. The head retention and lacing could be better. It's strength is its uniqueness. Certainly worth trying.

A: Very hazy gold with rich white head and solid lacing.
N: Very nice melon/citrus nose with hops and floral tones.
T: This is really good, hops are on point with solid melon mix, citrus and some sweetness with a slight dry finish.
M: Light/Medium
O: I really liked this one, this is a solid IPA with great light feel to it, refreshing. Not sure why others rate it so low, it was very good.

I know that I keep saying that I am getting out of the bottle biz, but there just seem to be some that are too tough to pass up. I have personally known Sam for years & I consider myself to be an off-centered person who likes off-centered ales. I found this in the mix 'n' match at Silantra & I was curious to try it.

From the Bottle: "Fermented with Riesling and Viognier grape must & hopped with Hallertau Blanc and Huell Melon & El Dorado to match the dry, fruity complexity of a Riesling with the hoppiness of an IPA."; "Ale Brewed with Grape Must".

I was anxious to Pop! the cap & get started with a C-Line pour into the awaiting glass, but first, I needed to get an approved pic in place. Mission accomplished! Pour = away! It was kind enough to form, unbidden, just under three fingers of foamy, soapy, bone-white head with moderate retention, leaving decent lacing in its wake. Color was a hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5). I can only assume that this was intentional and partly due to the grape must presence which would have suffered in the face of filtration. Nose was VERY vinous, very evocative of a dry white wine. I do not drink much wine (any more), but while working at CKW2G, I have smelled a lot of wine being poured. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was redolent with honeydew melon, white grape juice & a slight lemony tartness. Wow! It was interesting, but it was doing nothing to satiate my hophead jones. It lacked bitterness and resembled an AIPA in name only. It was as if Sam & Marnie Old had reversed roles, "He Said Wine, She Said Beer". Ha! Or maybe it was an example of Sean O's 21st Amendment Blah, Blah, Blah IPA in which everything is an IPA. I dunno, but this was not making it, IMHO. YMMV. Finish was dry, but more vinous than beery. 8=( I was left ready to drink a beer.
