All the right moves in a bright, flavorful wild ale. Champagne-like fruitiness dominates in a fresh, not sweet nor sour Farmhouse brew. Smoothed by 18 months of Chardonnay barrel aging, and a taste profile courtesy of both brettanomyces and lambicus yeast strains. It is absolutely no strain enjoying this crisp ale.

Man I don’t know why some people are reviewing this lower. This is a stellar example of an American Brett beer. Beautiful clear golden color. Smells like some barnyard funk and white wine. Taste is the same- some puckering sourness coupled with the white wine barrel. Nice change if pace from all the hops.

750ml bottle into a tulip. No freshness dating that I could find, but a recent release after being aged for 18 months in Chardonnay barrels.
Dull, hazy orange body with some iridescent highlights. Good streams of carbonation up the side of the tulip replenish a small bright white head leaving nice lacing.
Apple, wine, and a little funk on the nose
Upon tasting, the funk is apparent, but not overly so. White wine, apple, grape juice. Lightly sour, and on the dry side. Even a little hoppiness. Nice drink.
Mouth above medium, finish dry, sour, funky, and a little coated.
Overall, in my limited experience with this style, I think I like them. There is a lot going on in this beer, and the last 8 ounces were a bit of a chore. But overall, once in a while, I could go for this again

This appears to be my 1,400th rating..and what a beer to mark the occasion!
From the 25 oz bottle it pours a clearish amber color with a nice sized sudsy head that displays great retention all throughout.
The aroma opens with a light rustic funk, fleeting and not at all unpleasant; somewhat akin to a lambic, particularly a Geuze. Soon, the effects of the Chardonnay barrel aging reveal its aromatics; tart, vinous and oaky. Additional aroma notes of dry cider, peaches, lemon and lime.
The taste is tart albeit not overwhelmingly so. Instead, there is a nice complex balance of dry, rustic, vinous and oaky flavors. Notes of Chardonnay, white grape, spicy peppery phenols, dry cider, peach, lemon, lime and green apples.
Medium bodied with a moderate to light carbonation that has a gentle bite. A very dry finish is lightly tart and mouth puckering and leaves you wanting more.
Fantastic brew comprising of complex flavors and great drinkability. Truly special.
