pours an opaque orange juice color with almost no head. nose; kombucha, tart raspberry & mango juice. taste; light cracker malt, tart mango, raspberry, touch of vanilla, light kombucha/malt vinegar, orange juice, & light citrus hops. medium carbonation & thick, heavy mouthfeel (lactose). dogfish head likes to take shots in the dark with frankenstein beers, and this one hit the target for me; this beer single-handedly broke down my dislike for sours. i'm now aboard.

Yellow gold to very light orange in color with pronounced cloudiness. No head on top. The aroma is of tart mango. I’m tasting plenty of tropical mango with more of a citrus flair from the tangerine. The mouth is aptly smoothly, crisp and refreshing. This almost seems healthy.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before Sept 2021. Pours opaquely hazy/cloudy orange/mango color with no head retention or lacing. Some clinging bubbles and streaming carbonation on the glass. Aromas and flavors of tangerine/mango juice, lemon, lime, green apple, grape, citrus peel, cardamom, mint, peppercorn, wheat, bread dough, cracker, rose water, vanilla, cream, herbal, floral, grass, and light lacto funk/yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness, cardamom spice, and herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt, sticky spice, and lactic acid mouthfeel. Lingering bitter/tart drying, minimal astringency. Mild warmth of 6.5% and lingering spice heat after the finish. Refreshing and very unique for a sour. Quite strong on spice but not overwhelming. Plenty of fruit flavor with balanced lacto complexity and malt/lactose presence. Very well made as expected of the brewery.

Mango Smoovie pours a hazy, darker orangish color, with no head, at all. Aroma is filled with orange, mango and vanilla. Flavor is big, lots of orange and mango, lots of vanilla, nice spicy finish. A little flat. Overall, ugly, flatter beer, with great flavors, lots of fruit, vanilla mixes well.

Medium body, light carbonation. Dry, tart finish

A bit disappointed with this one. Tastes good but no head, no lacing, a bit flat.

Bottle from Pioneer Supermarket on the UWS, NYC. Pours a cloudy opaque dark orange with a flash of bubbly white head that dissipates, minimal lacing, smell is tart dried mango, vanilla, cardamom, hints of citrus and white grape skin, taste is mango/mandarin hard candy, melted mango sorbet, vanilla, yellow cake, cardamom, hints of dry white wine and grapefruit flesh, feel is bright, decent carbonic bite, medium acidity, dry finish. A mango grapefruit cardamon bun dipped in white wine. Tropical cream soda vibes.

Its gold and hazy with a slight sour nose. Mine was missing the head; it was thin at best. Hints of mango and citrus on the tongue. This is a great brew for spring or summer.

 

 

12oz bottle. Poured out a thick, cloudy orange color with a very small, white head of foam. It left no lacing on the glass. It smelled of sweet mango, some caramel and floral notes. Very sticky sweet with mango, caramel and toffee. Almost no bitterness.

Not typical of fruited sours, not very sour, and nothing over the top on fruit. Reminds me more of a radler. But still a tasty and interesting brew, as is everything DFH
