A 5.1% ABV Salted Peach IPA that was born out of a happy accident of sorts. We found ourselves with some extra peach purée after sourcing it for Festina Pêche, and Brewmaster Mark came up with this delicious recipe for our co-workers to sample, as our Tasting Room & Kitchen at our Milton brewery was closed at the time. When our Tasting Room reopened, it was put on tap as Salacious IPA in August 2020, and thus was born another tasty addition to our history of fruited IPAs!

Can dated September 2021 into pint glass. Pours a hazy gold with a persistent off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is a fruity and fairly sweet IPA, with possibly peach (per the description) but definitely pineapple and caramel. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation. . Finish is smooth, tapering to a lingering sweetness. Overall, it's OK but I wouldn't buy again. (In fact, I DIDN'T buy - somebody left this in the fridge.)

12oz can with a date. I listened to the 'Moistboyz Juvenile Song Demo's & Sh*t Rejects' record while drinking the juice
Hazy with no lovely particles or floaties. Looks nice, smells light and floral, but no peaches. The "Mayan Sun Sea Salt" shows (barely) in the feel and finish, 'tho I've no frame of reference as to what that means, beyond marketing gibberish. Did they mean "bath salts"? I guess I'll find out. It's a light/aight forgettable 'easy mode IPA'. Even if I drank 1000, you'd have to tell me it has peach
Thanks Sam Adams, ...ah, I mean Dogfish Head the lil' renegade lil' bitty start-up brewery, employee pwned. I'm only jesting. The music was better

Here is what the brewer says about it:

In addition to that story, the can says, "brewed with ... tropical hops & Mayan Sun Sea Salt."
What? "Mayan Sun Sea Salt" --- talk about your marketing blather!
(PS: After I finished the review, I looked up "Mayan Sun Sea Salt" and found a couple of "artisan" spice companies also using that phrase for some of their salt offerings, which apparently means the salt comes from Central American estuaries. Yippee. The Atlantic Ocean is special there, dontchaknow.)
Hmmm... OK. So, a fruited pale ale marketed as a "Mayan Sun Sea Salt ... peach puree" IPA.
(Yeah, I'm building the skepticism before even cracking the can. Oh, well, at least my bias is acknowledged.)
Clear citrus orange slightly hazy body, but clear enough to see ample carbonation. Initially forming a tall white bubbly head with only OK retention, becoming a rocky remnant within a few minutes. Some sticky lacing left behind.
Mild citrus aroma, along with non-citrus fruits, perhaps the peach the brewer's notes promise. The aroma is pleasant, just not too strong.
The flavor is, well, interesting. Just a hint of the citrus along with the mild fruitiness noted in the aroma. To me, it is just an indistinct non-citrus fruitiness, and is not prominent or obvious enough for me to call it "peach", except perhaps subliminally. It seems like peach or pineapple or just generic tropical. Anyhow, I'm not getting any of the mentioned salt, Mayan or otherwise. There is a faint bitterness at the beginning which mostly disappears into the mild middle and finish. The finish and aftertaste are the mild fruit flavors along with a kind of very subdued bitterness that is more of an edge than an IPA-like bitterness. The finish is a touch on the sweet side, leaving a pleasant-tasting remnant on the tongue.
Moderate body.
Overall, an interesting beer that I'm glad to have tried. I would call it more of a slightly fruited pale ale, though, rather than an IPA. A good sample box exclusive. (Which is to say an interesting beer that may not stand on its own.)

Orangish yellow with a big cap of soft white foam. The nose smells like peach rings and grapefruit. The flavor is far more subtle than I would have expected. The peaches are noticeable, the salt is miniscule, and there are some orange and grapefruit notes. Medium to light bodied with a slightly high level of carbonation.

Pours a hazy light gold with a small head but some lacing on the surface. Smell is mild, perhaps some light peaches and hops. Taste is interesting and unique- peaches, low sweetness, fruity hops, with a bracing bitterness in the finish. Rather full bodied. Pretty good, different, fruit IPA.

I was gifted the Box the Goes Booom and this is the first one to fall out of the box. It pours hazy gold with a bubbly white head. I get sweet peaches, herbal hops, and a bit of lemon on the nose. I'm a little dubious of "Mayan sun sea salt". 1. The Mayans are dead and 2. all salt is sea salt. The only difference is the cut of the salt. Either way, the only salt I detect is when the beer immediately hits my tongue. Otherwise, it's ripe peaches and a mix of bitter and citrusy hops. The hops are a bit muddled and they don't compete with the tasty peach. It feels very smooth and a bit heavier than the 5.1% abv would suggest. The description below suggests that this beer was just a quick recipe they built around some extra peach puree. For what it's worth, it doesn't seem like that. It's a pretty well balanced beer, even if the hops are a little uninspired.

Hazy gold, nice white head. Good retention and lace
Smells like peaches, overripe pineapple, and some dank
Tastes like slightly salty tonic water with a bit of peach on the back end
Medium-full bodied with appropriate carbonation
Not great

I've been hearing some buzz about this one for the past few weeks, only to find out it's only available in a mixed 12 pack, so I figured I would skip out on it. Well, here we are anyways, as I bought the mixed 12 pack on a whim yesterday since I needed something for a get together. Let's see what this one is all about
Pours a cloudy yellow gold with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The peaches do something really nice to the nose on this one, almost feeling like a cross between 60 Minute and Festina Pêche, with a solid malt/hop balance with a light tartness. I'm picking up on aromas of juicy tart peach, grassy hops, lemon peel, tangerine, underripe melon, caramel malt, and a touch of sea salt
More firm bitterness in flavor, but I like this quite a bit, definitely a lot higher than the average on here would suggest. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting underripe melon, creamy peach, grassy hops, orange rind, and doughy malt. The swallow brings notes of juicy peach, sea salt, piney hops, grassy hops, white pepper, and caramel malt
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a very soft and smooth beer that has a bit of bite in the flavor. Finishes mostly dry with a very subtle tartness
This one is actually pretty damn good for new DFH. An interesting take on a fruited IPA and one that I might have to get more of, even if that means getting more 12 packs
