Ordered this back when it was on tap at the Brewpub. I picked this one first over the Billy Bud. Even though I found the BB to be fantastic I thought this one was pretty good too.

This poured out as a nice rich dark black color. The head was brown and foamy looking. The lacing wasn't the best here but it stuck around for a just a little bit. The smell of the beer had a chocolately roasted aroma to it. The taste of the beer was sweet with honey, and had a big bold dark dry bitter finish to it. The mouthfeel was a bit lighter than I expected. Overall it was a pretty good stout.

Served in a snifter.

This is how to end your visit to the brewpub. It pours an opaque black-brown headed by over a finger of darkish tan micro-foam. The nose comprises light coffee, dark chocolate, darkly roasted malts, caramel, and a tiny bit o' honey peeking forth from the back. The taste follows almost identically, though the honey is toned down flavor-wise. Instead, some cane sugar-style sweetness bleeds through, adding a bit of complexity that would otherwise have been lost. The honey returns in the body, though, lightening the proceedings to a surprising medium to go along with a lightly moderate carbonation and light, smooth finish. This lightness of body, though, is a bit off-putting in such a rich and tasty stout, where some chewiness is not only expected, but, at least in my case, preferred. Still, it does allow for an easier drinking experience. And, besides, it's still a damn tasty brew. I can't wait for the "real" Bitches Brew!

on tap at the dogifsh head brew pub in rehoboth beach, de.

a: opaque black. 1 finger tan head with excellent retention and lacing.

s: coffee, malt, and a tad bit of honey

t: a sweeter imperial stout than I am used to. Kind of a grainy taste mixed with coffee, honey, and an overall sweet finish.

m: a little to light bodied for my liking. This drank more like an ipa than an imperial stout. It was kind of like a summer imperial stout.

d: very good, the alcohol is hidden well, this is fairly tasty, and goes down easy.

This is a pretty black stout, no light showing through this. It poured with a thin mocha head. The nose was heavy is roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. The taste was very true to the smell, heavy roasted malts, strong coffee, with bittersweet chocolate that was very well balanced with honey. This is definitely lighter than other imp stouts that I have had but it is very drinkable.

Bordering on black-more of a deep, deep brown color. Smallish, cocoa head around the edges of the glass. Roasted, somewhat sweetish aroma. A decent roasted flavor. Some sweetness to it. A mild lactic sort of "wang" going on. Moderate hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is a tad thin for my liking-I think a tad more body would bring out the flavors more. Overall an enjoyable beer. Fun to try their brewpub exclusives but with so much on their menu right now I prefer something else.
