Un’Ora … that’s 60 minutes in Italian! We took the idea behind our beloved 60 Minute IPA and created an off-centered Italian pilsner that’s been continually hopped for … you guessed it, a full 60 minutes.

Brewed with the finest flint corn polenta, Un’Ora offers everything you’ve come to know (and expect) from a pilsner. Golden with a malty sweetness, the crisp finish of Un’Ora will captivate your taste buds and have you coming back time and time again.

Picked up as p[art of a mixed winter themed twelve pack from Dogfish Head I purchased at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg. Looks the part with a rocky head and translucent golden body. Nose is medium hops with a touch of citrus. Flavor is bright and mellow and well balanced. Real nice earthy note in the finish. Less carbonated than expected, but it works. Overall, this is not unique, but well done.

Poured into a narrow imperial pint glass: color is straw, head is bright white with pillowy froth that presents at least two fingers thick, head dissipates to frothy mixed depth top and lots of lacing on the glass side.

Smell is mixed grain and notable corn, crisp grassy and earth hops.

Taste is more mixed grain, light biscuit, sweetness, hops are grassy and light lemon zest, light herbal and earth.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness and lingering carbonic bite.

Overall a great pilsner with adjuncts that are well balanced by the hopping and crispness.

A - Light medium gold color with nice clarity and lots of steady carbonation. Lacing is thin, creamy, and bright white.

S - Light corn malt aroma with some vibrant, earthy hops.

T - Light sweet corn base up front before its squashed by an overload or earthy sweet floral and citrusy hops and finishes on the hoppier, bitter side with sweet floral and citrus. Eventually the residual corn malt pokes through after the sip and the hops starts to subside.

M - Big medium body with prickly carbonation.

O - This drinks more like an IPL. Dig it.

12 oz. can, date just says May 2023. Picked up another variety twelve pack from Dogfish; they've been releasing some freshies in this area lately.

Poured to a clear stemless wine snifter.
A: Pours a crisp golden pilsner body, good clarity, small finger of thin soapy bubbly head.
S: Nice fresh aroma. Crisp, earthy, herbal, floral, only lightly grainy / corny / husky, to my surprise. Has an almost zesty lemon pith / lemon grass aroma, paired with some berryish fruit aromas. It does smell very nice, I'll give it that..
T: Follows the nose: earthy, herbal, grassy, not overly grainy or corny / husky, but all of those flavors are present as well. Lightly fruity, added positivity.
F: Feel is smooth, crisp, clean, fresh. Excellent carb, light-bodied, super easy-drinking stuff.
Overall, crisp, fresh, & clean drinking stuff. Doesn't break any new ground or anything, but very good for what it is.

L - Poured a light hazy straw color with a two-finger white rough head that dissipated slowly. Minimal lacing.

S - Nose is faint sweet corn and grass.

T - Light sweet malt, corn, grain and lemongrass with a bit of hop bitterness on the finish. Very nice and drinkable.

F - Moderate body and carbonation. Slightly dry, crisp and clean.

O - Very nice pils. The hint of corn is nice unlike many AALs. I would buy again.

From the Continually Hopped variety pack, with BB date of May 2023.

Clear gold, with 1.5 fingers of coarse ivory head.

Smell is slightly-sweet grain , a little noble hop spiciness, leaning coriander, and a faint bit of lemon and lime rind. The corn is apparent, but light , a little, sharp, and not sweet. Not the nauseating (to me) sweet, morning-after-the-night-before , rank aroma of many AALs with corn.

Taste is light-moderate dry corn (not sweet) , bread crust, coriander/black pepper spiciness of a bohemian pils (not quite witbier level), finishing with the lemon & lime rind in the aroma, which is ~ 55/45 to the lime side. Light bitterness that lingers a short time after finish.

Feel is light, but not watery, with moderate, fine carbonation tingle-then-bite. Lingering drying effect on the front 20% of the tongue after finish, which builds over the course of 10 seconds or so.

Overall, not my favorite sort of pils, but I do like it, and it would be welcome on a hot summer day. I hope DFH does this as a stand-alone.
