This Brewpub Exclusive is a blondish ale brewed with coconut water, lemon zest, and toasted coconut. Many of our beers receive a dose of hops in the fermenter (a procedure called dry hopping) to supplement the hop aromas. We dry coconutted this beer with a heap of toasted coconut flakes to provide subtle hints of coconut and compliment the citrus zing that is layered on top of the smooth light base. Perfect after a hot day on the beach, this refreshing summer ale will take you away to your own private island.

Occasionally you come across a beer that just never should have been made. This is one of those beers.
On-tap at the pub in RB.
Light lemon pour. No head and no lace.
Raw notes of coconut and lime in the nose. Light malt wafting up, too. The coconut just doesn't smell right, though. Too oily.
Think sun tan lotion poured into your beer and this is the taste you get out of this one. Oily, greasy, and otherwise unpleasant. Only redemption is a bit of sourness in the finish.
Thin body, but the oil leaves a coating on your tongue. Not a good feeling.
Overall, DFH makes some outstanding beers. This is not one of them.
