A clear beer with a clear vision: be delicious and satisfying. Brewed from a simple grist of Pilsener and wheat malts and modestly dry-hopped with a blend of herbal, fruity and floral hops. Kööölsch delivers cool flavor, cool refreshment and cool vibes.

This is the lone survivor from the Dogfish Head spring mixed twelve I picked up last weekend. Kolsch is a surprisingly difficult style to make well. The flavor here is fine: gentle malt, late kiss of hops. Texture is maybe a touch thicker than ideal. Not bad, but not a standout for me for either the style or brewer.

Appearance: Clear pale yellow, good head.
Smell: Almost nonexistant, barely a whiff of hay.
Taste: Light and fruity, mild pear and maybe light tropical fruit note. Finishes with the light fruit.
Overall: Pretty standard easy drinking kolsch, light fruity flavors and minimal hop presence. It’s fine but not my preferred light-side style of beer.

Poured a clear, pale yellow with frothy two-finger white head that dissipated slowly. Moderate lacing. An herb and floral note on the nose. Light biscuit, grass and herb notes in the taste with minimal hop bitterness. Light-moderate feel and carbonation. This is a refreshing and tasty Kolsch that deserves to be on your radar.

Pours clear straw yellow with a huge pillowy white head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma is faint, biscuit, corn, and citrus. Flavor follows the nose bolder than the aroma. A bit of sweet fruit followed by a nice touch of bitter. Feel is light bodied, adequately carbonated. Overall, great, would buy this as a stand-alone.

Pours a clear golden color with a nice white pillowy head. Aromas of watermelon, citrus and spice. Has the right amount of carbonation to keep the mouthfeel light enough to be highly session-able. Would be exceptional on a hot day around a pool.

From the spring mixed 12pk. BB : Jul 2026 [Guessing the "26" is the only thing that is clear. ]Sitting out at 55F for awhile before opening.
Clear gold with 2+ fingers of coarse white head that leaves some streaks of lacing, a 1/8" ring, and slight surface sheeting.
Smell is mixed citrus rind, and a hint of green onion. A bit of fresh grass and hop spiciness from the open can.
Taste is light bread crust , white grape, a touch of honey, mixed citrus rind, and hop spiciness. Light bitterness at finish and beyond.
Feel is light and smooth with light very, very fine carbonation tingle.
Light and easy-drinking. I'd like to try this on a hot summer day. Hope they keep it going.

12 oz can poured into a pint glass. Look is clear pale yellow color, 2 finger white head that falls to a thin cap, a nice lacing left behind in the glass, some active carbonation bubbles popping up in the glass at the start. Smell is a mix of bready malt and fruits like apple, grape skin, and light lemon. Taste is sweet malts all the way through, white bread specifically, lemon grass, pear, apple, grape skin, some mild hop bitterness but mostly sweet. Feel is light bodied, light carbonation, easy to drink. Overall, a nice beer with good flavor.

Light gold with slight opacity and a white head that leaves some lacing. The smell is pleasant with some malt and fruit. Taste has a good mix of flavors where the hops are noticeable but not excessive and there is a slight bitterness. Together, the moderate combination keeps this feeling very light and drinkable, almost making me thing over summer rather than spring.

Feathery light, session kolsch with decent mouthfeel for as light as it drinks; an understated biscuity/malty flavor and a clean, crisp, barely-there aftertaste. Very slammable and probably better appreciated on a hot summer day.

12oz can stamped JUN 2026 poured into a stange glass at fridge temp 4.6% ABV. The beer pours mostly bright light golden amber with off white head. The head recedes to an uneven ring and leaves a few spots of lacing. The aroma is mild with pale malt and light apple. The taste is semisweet pils malt with grassy hop flavor and moderate bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good Kölsch style beer.

Almost crystal clear, pale shiny yellow with a gray-white head, good retention, and sheets of lacing.
Perfect Kölsch smell; bright, fresh white grape must, dry white wine, floral, pineapple, lemon zest, barnyard dust, oyster crackers.
Lightly sweet malt, oyster crackers, honey and vanilla, floral, white grape juice, must, grass. Clean and crisp. Almost tastes like straight-up Chardonnay mixed up blonde ale. Crisp and refreshing.
This is a wonderful Kölsch and I wish I could drink this all the time. This is how I imagine the French countryside smells and tastes like...in drinkable form!

Pours light straw; clear with slightest opacity and white uniform head, itty bits of lace dot the initial pour.
Snappy malt and hop laden nose; herbal comes to mind first soft hints of flower petals and fresh kilned malt; intoxicating hint of fruit character as it warms, reminiscent of canned pears.
Taste instantly lives up to the pear noted on the nose; last note from the nose becomes first on taste; flavors then shift into delicate malt and earthy herbal leaning hops; the malt keeps sucking me back in, just ever so slightly kilned or toasted and pairing real nicely with this beers hop character.
Light bodied beer with good fullness; soft on the palate, perceived sweetness lingers ever so slightly before pleasantly drifting away into a fluffy soft finish that morphs into an off dry finish, low to moderate bitterness with appropriate drinkability enhancing carb.
