First had: on tap at DFH, Rehoboth
Dark brown-black pour with a small but stable bubbly white head. Aroma of dark malts and subtle red wine. Delivered what was promised in the taste: a melding of chocolaty dark malts and semi-tart fruits, with grape and cranberry notes present, but never dominant, keeping the malt roastiness in check. Body was medium, no question that it wasn't a stout or porter, yet for a brown ale, it was still rather hearty in mouthfeel. It was enjoyable enough overall for me to get a full pour after having a sampler.

Exclusive on tap at the brewpub
Pours close to black with a tan thin head, dissipates to a lacing.
Smokey scent with elements of cocoa, licorice and molasses.
Flavor is of tart grapes, cocoa, molasses and some nutty bitterness.
Medium body with a tingle of carbonation across the roof of the mouth.
This one is a weird, a dark ale brewed with Syrah grapes and cranberries. It works okay, glad I tried it, but it's a little too odd to be "great."
