Savored over 30 minutues at the Tap House in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
It pours the color of hazy hay. A fairly thin head, but with nice fine lacing.
The nose is generally characterized by clean scents with some flowery honey and a breeze of grassy hops.
The taste profile is remarkably complex. At the start, this brew is like a light mead, as the style would dictate. Then the careful, balanced hopping shows its influence with lemon pepper, followed by white grape, mango,...and ending in a subtly chewy monocot that fades like a song. At the same time that there's all this complexity, it's not too weighty or hot. So, it is dangerously drinkable.
High carbonation balances the honey thickness well, cutting the high ethanol just right to make the beer both engaging and refreshing.
This is a Dogfish experiment worth replicating...and in larger batch so we can take it home!

This was a brewpub exclusive. There was a lot going on with this beer. It was light golden in color. The smell was slightly sweet and had a whiff of hops. The taste is where things got interesting. It started sweet like a honeyed braggot but finished hoppy, as it's loaded with hops like a DIPA. Somewhat carbonated and refreshing. I'd love it if this made it to bottles.
