Citrus hop aroma and savory malt aroma.
This IPA has a solid hop bitterness, but the malt sweetness gently wraps it up at the end.
This is Popeye's flagship beer!

Pulling the world together with hops, the brewers at Ryougoku get to work to create an American-styled IPA, classic, basic and pure in its recipe formulation and brewing technique.
Simply named Ryougoku American IPA, the beer pours moderately cloudy and with an amber-chrome tint. As a creamy froth skirts from rim to rim, a balanced scent of toasted bread, nuttiness, citrus and spruce decorate the nose. Sweetness strikes first in the form of toasted caramel with a hint of honey, drying quickly to a steely sweetness in anticipation of hops. Pink grapefruit, orange peel and pine all sing a classic hop note that extends into a grassy, peppery and spurcy hop bite to command a bitter balance.
Medium bodied and trending dry, the IPA finishes decidedly bitter to appease true hop heads, but also shows a moderate hop-derived astringency that plagues the finish and aftertaste.

Enjoyed on draft at Popeyes. It’s like then white-head that leaves nice placing. Those is slightly piney. Taste is slightly citrus and slightly pine and slightly malty. Very evenly balanced IPA.
