Barrel aged imperial stout with coffee, vanilla, and milk sugar

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells quite roasty, and lightly smokey, with dark chocolate, vanilla, and burnt coffee.
This is definitely a very burly and old fashioned tasting stout – the vanilla adds very little sweetness, and the coffee is somewhat bitter. The roasty and chocolatey base stout is quite good though, it’s just that the coffee is somewhat clashing, and I want more vanilla to help balance things out.
This is medium bodied, with a long bitter finish, and a slight bit of booziness.
I still enjoyed this despite its flaws.
