Poured from 16oz can into a tulip. Canned 1/23/26.
Appearance: light golden hue with an almost totally clear body, a moderate effervescence, and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: resiny, earthy, piney, grapefruit-peel-ey, atop a kind of rather-sweet malt. Absolutely the profile of what we call WCIPA nowadays. Actually quite decent if you’re into this sort of thing.
Taste: a bit dank and earthy, like the aroma, with a nice grapefruit-rind flavor. It’s on the sweet side but there’s a solid bitterness for contrast. I’m not always a west coast guy, but I’m finding this to be really good.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a decent carbonation and a good creaminess.
Overall: this one just works for me. It achieves a good balance, something not all westies accomplish. Looks like I’m an outlier based on the other reviews here, but I really find this to be a solid beer.

It’s a “West Coast Style” says the can. I asked my man at the Grand Fir brewery if it was a hazy IPA so I could stay away and my mans said “we don’t make those”. Anyways the beer poured hazy out of the can. Definitely dank and ripe pineapple as the can says. Not ruby red as the can says. Good beer overall but not the clean and crisp west coast IPA I was looking for. More like a dank hazy IPA.
