The Aeternum Beer Shop is north of the Vatican next to the Mercato Trionfale. It's not an area where tourists would normally go, and the Mercato Trionfale isn't really worth a stop unless you need to buy something (although it's not bad), however the Aeternum Beer Shop is definitely worth a visit. It's a small place, kind of like a caffe bar, with a green marble counter and taps on the left and a green marble bar rail on the right. There are stools but it's a tight space, especially if the football crowd is in. There are 9 taps, all good stuff with no big players, and supposedly beer pumps although I don't remember seeing any. There's also a fair sized selection of cans and bottles that you can drink there or take with you at a lower price. As is usually the case in Roma, the food is of high quality so they get high marks on that. If you're visiting Roma for the first time don't bother, but if you've been there before and know most of the surrounding neighborhoods give it a try.
