Another twist on the American pale ale style. This is a deep amber ale that uses pale and dark crystal malts. It is generously hopped with Centennial and Chinook hops in the kettle, Cascade in the hop jack and finally, a healthy dose of pungent Columbus for dry-hopping. The result is a very American hop flavor and aroma seated into a rich malt background. The body is medium and hop flavor intense. (O.G. - 14.25P/1057. Hops - 52 IBUs.)

A - Poured a somewhat, cloudy, copper color with ruby highlights. It had a one-finger, white, foamy head that left behind some nice rings of lace.
S - It smelled of grasses, orange peel and caramel malts. A really nice balance nose that you'd expect from an APA.
T - Nice sweet caramel malts, with a slight nutty flavor. A smooth citrus, hop kick adds just a touch of bitterness.
M - It was crisp and sharp. A light to medium bodied beer with a smooth finish.
D - This is a good APA. I was glad to see it on the menu last night.

This beer just came out this week and I was happy to try something different from their stouts. A light chestnut color with great retention on head. The aroma is intoxicating. To me I get a ton of thyme, as well as just a general herbaliness. Flavor is not too hoppy, but well balanced with the malts. Again, that thyme flavor shows up and just makes it a quite enjoyable brew. Stop in and try a pint (catch it on Mondays for $1.75 deals!).
